DNS infrastructure built and operated in Europe
What le_dns is
le_dns is operated by Maiko BOSSUYT in France. The project covers:
- a free public recursive DNS resolver;
- a v2 target for managed primary and secondary authoritative DNS; and
- optional v2 automation and team controls for customers who need them.
At the last verified production snapshot on 2026-08-29, the service still used the legacy resolver and secondary-DNS stack. That dated evidence is not proof of current live state; reverify the deployed service before making a current claim. A Go-native v2 platform is being prepared for a coordinated cutover. Features described as v2 launch features are implemented in that rebuild but must not be read as deployed.
Operating principles
- European operation: in the production snapshot inspected on 2026-08-29, the fleet used OVHcloud and Scaleway in Gravelines, Limburg and Warsaw. Reverify the deployed inventory and contracts before treating that as current.
- No voluntary content filtering: the resolver does not use advertising, family or commercial category blocklists. Valid legal orders remain an exception.
- No DNS monetization tricks: failed payments, cancellations and plan changes never redirect a customer’s DNS answers to advertising or parking pages.
- Cost recovery: paid plans are intended to fund hosting, monitoring, backups, payment processing and continued maintenance, not to maximize profit.
- Open implementation: the repository is licensed under GNU AGPLv3. Deployment and independent-audit status are stated separately; an open licence is not proof of an audit.
v2 launch plans
The public resolver remains free. Managed authoritative DNS uses four monthly plans:

France consumer reference (75001), in EUR, without a discount or business tax exemption. The final total depends on buyer details confirmed by Paddle before payment. Estimate for your country. Live checkout is not open during qualification.
V2 paid plans are being qualified with Paddle as reseller; live checkout is not open. Paddle collects applicable taxes and shows the final tax-inclusive total before payment. The Plesk pilot has a preview allocation from Pro, but remains unavailable until server-side enrollment, external acceptance and explicit installation admission.
